The state plant of Texas is the Prickly Pear cactus, but Texans misuse the Saguaro as a symbol of the state all the time. It's no surprise an Oregonian would do the same. FYI, they do exist in Texas, just like non-native plants exist everywhere.
I have to agree. Being from Texas, I don’t think this cactus is an accurate image to represent the Lone Star state. Maybe a blue bonnet instead?????
I love these new state stamps and are going to be great for scrapbooking! However, a few of the stamps puzzle me... especially this one. Being from Arizona, I find it interesting to see a Saguaro Cactus on a stamp for Texas seeing they don't naturally grow in Texas and are unique to the Sonoran Desert (southern Arizona, I believe southern part of California and part of Mexico) not Texas lol. Just found this one confusing lol. But love the stamps and Honeybee all the same.
