Wild Luxe: Animal Print Purse & Gift Card Holder by Bobbi Lemanski

I have a love for purses and totes. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I don't have to try them on or worry about size I wear! For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made using black and kraft cardstock. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this purse, I followed the handy layering guide on the Honey Bee Stamps website here. I recommend downloading it from the site and printing it off to have readily available. I tuck mine inside my die set packet and store with the dies. 

This guide gives you the step-by-step directions on assembling the tote, including how to fold the layers correctly. It's easy with this guide! 

To make the animal print, I hand drew my spots design on the purse flap using Copic Markers 100 and YR27 on kraft cardstock. After making this tote, I ordered the Animal Print Stencils and plan to give them a try for two different great design prints. The stencils make the print fail-proof. Use Ranger Distress Oxide inks in Black Soot and/or Rusty Hinge for perfect results. 

For the chain link handle, buckle clasp and tab, I used a metallic gold cardstock to make it look more like real metal. I also made the gold tassel from the Accessorize It: Charmed Honey Cuts Dies in gold, too. For the buckle strap, I cut the strap out of black cardstock and added white stitching to the edge. The handle actually fits inside two open slits in the top of the purse for a very clean look on the purse top. TIP: Make sure to add the tassel or accessory before attaching your handle. 

When assembled, this cute "wild luxe" purse has enough space inside for a small gift or gift card. On the outside of the front, I added the sentiment "Shop 'til you drop" to make this into a gift card holder. I love that this purse and gift card option is a "one size fits all" kind of gift idea!
