I love making valentines. My husband suggested that he take any extra valentines I make to work and let the guys pick them for their significant others. I loved the idea so I've been busy making all different types of valentines - funny, sweet, happy... This valentine will sweetly "tug at the heartstrings." It's simple and sweet and conveys appreciation for a Valentine's love. I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lovely Layers: Oak Branch Honey Cuts dies (On sale!)
Lovely Layers: Cherry Blossoms Honey Cuts dies
Lean on Each Other stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Bold Backgrounds: Vines of Love Honey Cuts dies
Red Pearl Gem Stickers (On sale!)
Red Rhinestone Gem Stickers (On sale!)
For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this 5" X 7" valentine, I cut all the elements to make the oak branch using the Lovely Layers: Oak Branch Honey Cuts dies. I chose this die set because the branch is quick and simple. I die cut the main die and the individual leaves from green cardstock and the layered main branch from a brown cardstock. I layered and glued them all together and added some shading to the leaves and branch using Copic markers in YG13, YG03 and E47, respectively.
I also die cut all the individual hearts from pink cardstock using the dies from the Bold Backgrounds: Vines of Love Honey Cuts dies. I added red ink to the hearts using Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink and a blender brush (large and small). I also cut, colored and assembled the cherry blossom branch using the Lovely Layers: Cherry Blossoms Honey Cuts dies.

For the background, I splattered a 5" X 7" white card front panel with black watercolor paint and a fan brush. Once it dried, I attached the assembled oak branch to the top area of the panel. I cut apart the cherry blossom branch and attached it to the oak branch. Yes, I know cherry blossoms don't grow on oak trees, but for this card, they do!
I laid out my hearts and drew the black strings using a fine-tip black marker. I attached the hearts over the drawn strings using foam tabs for the larger hearts and glue for the smaller hearts.

To finish the card, I added two sentiments from the Lean on Each Other stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies I attached them and then added additional Red Pearl Gem Stickers and Red Rhinestone Gem Stickers and some hand-drawn simple bows on the strings to complete the look.
