Hello, friends!! Brenda here with sneak peeks of the new Perfect Picnic Release and are you in for a treat!! The release will be available on July 6th and it is chock-full of everything fresh and summer!! I can't get enough!!
My card today features the Lovely Layers: Picnic Table Die Set, Summer Scene Builder Background Stencil Set and the Sweetest Bunch Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies!!
I started by stenciling the background with the Summer Scene Builder Stencil Set onto a panel of white cardstock using Distress Inks using blender brushes. I used Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon for the sky, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness for the trees, bushes and ground and Vintage Photo for the tree trunks. Once all the stenciling was finished, I used the largest die in the Sweet Stacks: Rectangles Die Set to cut it out.
Next, I die-cut all the pieces in the Lovely Layers: Picnic Table Die Set from white cardstock and frosted silver cardstock. I find that when I have lots of die-cut pieces that it's often easier for me to die-cut everything from white cardstock and add color with inks and detail blending brushes or markers.
I used a combination of the following Distress Inks to add color and shading to the die-cuts: Tumbled Glass, Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Antique Linen, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Rusty Hinge and Lumberjack Plaid. I adhered all the pieces together with Bee Creative Glue, then arranged adhered them to the background, also using Bee Creative Glue. I added some details with a black fine-line marker and highlights with a white gel pen.
The sentiments, from the Sweetest Bunch Stamp Set, were stamped onto black cardstock with Bee Creative Embossing Ink and embossed with white embossing powder, The Coordinating Dies were used to cut them out, along with three more layers from heavyweight white cardstock. They were stacked and adhered together with Bee Creative Glue, then adhered to the front of the card.
Isn't this soooooo much fun?!? I had so much fun creating my picnic scene!!
