Season's Greetings - Stitched Snowflake

Season's Greetings - Stitched Snowflake

Happy Tuesday, crafters!! Brenda here with you today!! I'm sharing a holiday card featuring the In Stitches: Snowflake Honey Cuts from the latest Merry Moments Release!! This set is so beautiful stitched, but I think it would be gorgeous without the stitching, as well!!

I began by die-cutting the In Stitches: Snowflake Dies from cardstock in the Antique White Assortment Treasured Cardstock Pack. There is a backer die to cut a back piece in case you want to stuff it with poly-fill, but I cut both layers from cardstock and layered them together. The top layer was cut from brushed metallic and the bottom layer from glitter metallic. I also die-cut an additional layer with each die from heavyweight white cardstock and adhered it behind the glittered ones for stability. I stitched the top layer with Silver Diamant Thread, then adhered the layers together with Bee Creative Glue.

For the background, I embossed a panel of white cardstock with the Frosted Filagree 3D Embossing Folder. I blended it with Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Villainous Potion and Black Soot Distress Inks using background blender brushes, lighter in the center and darker around the perimeter. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered a length of the silver thread to the back of the panel at the top, then secured it to the front of the panel where it would be hidden by the snowflake. The panel was adhered to an A2 white, top-folding card base and the snowflake was adhered with Bee Creative Glue.

The sentiment is from the Warm Christmas Wishes Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with Bee Creative Embossing Ink, embossed with silver embossing powder, cut out with the Coordinating Die, then popped up with foam squares. I added a silver thread bow to the top of the snowflake and Jewel of Silver Faceted Rhinestones to the snowflake to finish off the card and add a bit more sparkle.

I love the combination of blue and silver for snowflake cards!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great week and I'll see you next Tuesday!!
