Love Is The Thread That Binds Us

Hello, Honey Bee friends!! I hope your week is off to a great start!! Brenda here with a sweet card featuring the Lovely Layers: Antique Sewing Table Honey Cuts with a sentiment from the Sew Glad Stamp Set!! My dad was a sewing machine mechanic for many, many years and I have an old antique sewing machine of his (very similar to this one) that I treasure, although I'm not much of a seamstress!! Let's get to my card...

I began by die-cutting all the pieces of the Lovely Layers: Antique Sewing Table Die Set from black and frosted silver cardstock. The spool was cut from kraft cardstock and the thread from red cardstock. I added the detail to the debossing on the sewing machine with a silver metallic gel pen to make it stand out more, then adhered all the pieces together with Bee Creative Glue.

For the background, I embossed a panel of white cardstock with the Quilted A2 Cover Plate Die. The hearts were added to the panel using a stencil from the Hearts and Dots Quilted Stencil Set (which is retiring and is on major sale, so grab it while you can!) and and red dye ink with a blending brush. The oval was cut from pearled silver vellum with a die in the Antique Layering Frames Die Set. I adhered the sewing machine to the vellum, then adhered the vellum to the background, adding Bee Creative Glue behind the die-cuts. 

The sentiment, from the Sew Glad Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with red dye ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I also die-cut one more layer from red cardstock and three layers from heavyweight white cardstock. Two of the white layers were adhered behind the stamped sentiment and one behind the red layer. They were stacked and adhered with the red layer slightly offset, then adhered to the front of the card with Bee Creative Glue. To finish, I added a red heart from the Red Hots Acrylic Heart Mix to the sewing machine for another pop of red.

I think I may give this to my mom to give to my dad for their anniversary, or vice versa!! They will be married for 61 years in January!! I think this would be perfect for them!!
