It's Your Birthday! Holy Cow!

Hello, friends and happy July!! Brenda here with a fun card featuring the Lovely Layers: Hooves & Horns Honey Cuts, along with a few other goodies from the Sawdust & Saddles release!!

I began by die-cutting all the elements for the cow from cream cardstock and the hooves from black cardstock using the Lovely Layers: Hooves & Horns Die Set. I added shading with a few colors of brown Distress Inks, then added some details with colored pencils. All the pieces were adhered together with Bee Creative Glue. I always see photos and paintings of highland cows with flowers in the hair, so I HAD to add some!! I used the Itty Bitty Fall Flowers Die Set to cut the flowers and leaves from pinks, yellow and aqua cardstock. I added a bit of shading to the leaves with Copic markers, then adhered them to the top of the cow's head. I added some pearls from the Spring Pearls Sticker Pack to the centers of the flowers. Isn't it adorable?!?

For the background, the Farmhouse Fields Scene Builder Cover Plate Die was cut from a panel of white cardstock. Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, Mustard Seed, Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks were used to shade the die-cut using the Farmhouse Fields Stencil Set. The clouds were die-cut from white cardstock using dies in the Cottage Countryside Die Set. A panel of white cardstock was die-cut with the largest die in the Sweet Stacks: Rectangles Die Set. I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto the top of the panel with a blending brush. The clouds and farmhouse die were adhered with Bee Creative Glue and the cow was popped up with foam tape.

The sentiments, from the Howdy Y'all Stamp Set, were stamped onto black cardstock with Bee Creative Embossing Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. They were cut out with the Coordinating Dies and popped up with foam tape. I added Glossy Accents to the cow's eyes and, once that was dry, a dot with a white gel pen. A trio of the same Spring Pearls that I used on the centers of the flowers were added to the background to finish off the card.
