Hello friends. This weekend, I had a chance to play with the new Honey Bee Stamps, Lovely Layers: Wallet Honey Cuts dies. I fell in love with the idea of using this wallet as a gift card or money holder for a gift. It's fantastic! For those "hard to please," "hard to give gifts people," there's nothing better than a gift card or a gift of money that allows them to choose their own gift! I made both a feminine and masculine version of the wallet to share today. Wait till you see inside each one! I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lovely Layers: Wallet Honey Cuts dies
Tooled Leather Embossing Folder
Lovely Layers: Petals & Wings Honey Cuts dies
Luxurious Friend stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
For the basics... I used Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the wallets, too.

Inside these wallets, there is a pocket on the left and a card pocket with a window front on the right. A little note card, some money or a gift card can be tucked inside either side for a fun way to share a gift of money/certificate. I've also added fun sentiments that fit so well with the idea of a gift card or money inside.
Feminine Wallet Gift Holder

For the feminine wallet, I used the Lovely Layers: Wallet Honey Cuts dies and the Tooled Leather Embossing Folder with a blush pink cardstock to create the outside of the wallet. I blended Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Worn Lipstick over the embossed blush cardstock to highlight the embossed design. It's that cool?! It looks like tooled leather!
To decorate the front of the wallet, I die cut some butterflies and florals from the Lovely Layers: Petals & Wings Honey Cuts dies to create the floral cluster. I used a grass green and a more vibrant berry for the florals and butterflies.
TIP: For the green leaves, I die cut an additional green butterfly from the set and cut the wings to make four leaves, two big and two small.
I used the circular metal fasteners die from the wallet set and metallic gold cardstock to make the floral centers of the flowers. I used a metallic bronze pearl pen to create the rivet design around the edge of the front of the wallet. I also added a drop of the liquid on the metallic floral centers for added dimension. I used a white pen to emphasize the stitched lines on the florals and the butterflies, too.
TIP: You can find the Handy Layering Guide on the Honey Bee site here. This guide helps a crafter understand how to assemble the wallet and how the accessory pieces can be used.

Inside the feminine wallet, I added accessories, like a zippered compartment, snap coin pocket and a window framed side pocket that are included in the wallet die set. I used pattern paper on the pockets using papers from the Homestead Hues paper pad. I added sentiments from the Luxurious Friend stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. When the gift card is removed, the additional sentiments show through the window. It's like having a secret reveal after removing the right side gift card! The sentiments were embossed in white using WOW! embossing powder Bright White Opaque and my heat tool. I used a fine-tip red marker to enhance the stitching seams around the pockets and window for added constrast.
Masculine Wallet

For the masculine wallet, I used a light brown cardstock for the body of the wallet and kraft cardstock for some of the accent elements. I blended on Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Walnut Stain to make the cardstock wallet look more like a worn leather. I used black cardstock for the initials and the leather tab, another accessory in the wallet set. This tab keeps the wallet shut. I added "Dad" for Father's Day, but you could add the initials or the name of the recipient on the outside. Using the "zipper" die accessory, I attached the element to the front of the wallet as an elastic band to hold bills. I slid a $20 bill in this one to show how it works.

Inside this wallet. I added all the elements that were already ink blended with Walnut Stain to create an open-top pocket on the left and a side window pocket on the right. I also used a black fine-tip marker to add stitching around the pockets. I simply followed the embossed stitching lines. I attached an embossed sentiment on the left using the Luxurious Friend stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. for the gift card pocket insert, I used a plaid paper from the Urban Roots Paper Pad.

When the gift card is removed, two more sentiments are exposed. I embossed the paper using white embossing powder and my heat tool. I added rivets to the left pocket that were cut from gold metallic cardstock. This wallet would be perfect for my son's birthday. I would just need to add his initials to the front v. the "Dad" monogram. Do you know someone that would love this wallet, too?!
