Falling for a Fall-Inspired Kitchen

Falling for a Fall-Inspired Kitchen

Hi all! Bobbi here, back with another Hoosier Cabinet card featuring the new Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Fall Add-On Honey Cuts dies. I have made a few of these cabinet cards over the last year. Of course, I could not wait to use the new fall-themed add-on set for another seasonal kitchen card. This time flint corn, apples, books, pumpkins, squash and leaves are all front and center, displayed on the cabinet this time.  The new Hello Harvest release is filled with many beautiful, fall-inspired products.

I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the die cut items, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

Keep in mind, the Hoosier Cabinet fits on an A2 card. I made this card in a 5" X 7" card. To make this A7 card, I started by making the cabinet and contents. The cabinet was cut from a darker, olive cardstock. All the drawers and doors were also cut from the same green except for the two lower cabinet doors, the countertop, crown molding and legs. Those were cut from a natural white cardstock. I colored them to a white oak color using a Copic E55. I assembled the cabinet as shown. I die cut the round knobs from white cardstock and colored them using a Copic E55 color, too. To finish the knobs, I added gold metallic Pearl Pen.

To "stage" the cabinet, I die cut the flint corn, apples, basket, leaves, books, pumpkin squash, hot cocoa and pie using the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Fall Add-Ons Honey Cuts dies. How cute are these items?!  I colored the leaves, basket, pie and cocoa cup using distress oxide inks in Walnut Stain, Tea Dye, Ripe Persimmon, Fossilized Amber, and Peeled Paint. I also did fine, detailed coloring using Copic markers. I added all the items to the cabinet. I also added "wallpaper" aka a printed paper on the backsplash of the cabinet. Because the leaves were strung across the top cabinets, I did not add any items behind the wall cabinet doors.

Inside the lower cabinet, I added a casserole dish and baking bowls from the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Baking Add-On Honey Cuts dies and the cup and jar of coffee beans from the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Fall Add-Ons Honey Cuts dies. The white highlights are added using a white Gelly Roll pen.

I created the background to look like an interior wall in a kitchen with a fun wallpaper above the white chair rail and a soft, warm gray baton board below the white molding. I used 1/8" wide strips of gray and white to create the faux moldings. The wallpaper is a paper from the new Homestead Hues Paper Pad. The brick floor strip was from an older paper pad no longer available at Honey Bee, however, any of the papers from the Grain and Grunge paper pad wood look amazing, especially the wood floor patterns.

I attached the cabinet to the kitchen wall background and stamped, die cut and attached the sentiment above the cabinet from the Forever Grateful stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts die set.
