Chapter and Charm Card Kit and Stacked Stories by Bobbi Lemanski

There’s something wonderfully thoughtful about a gift that combines friendship, flowers, and a love of reading. My card celebrates all three with a charming stack of books, a beautiful bloom, and a magnifying glass that invites a closer look at all the delightful details. Whether your friend is an avid reader, a curious explorer, or simply someone who appreciates a heartfelt handmade creation, this design is filled with personality and warmth. I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Book Labels Stencils - Set of Two Layering Stencils

For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white acrylic pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this 5" X 7" card, I used pattern papers from the Lovely Layers: Stacked Stories Honey Cuts dies set. Since my card is A7, I needed two patterns to cover the front. I also cut a couple strips of metallic gold cardstock to add a finishing touch to the seam where the two papers meet (1/8" wide) and at the bottom (1/4" wide strip.)

I used the Lovely Layers: Stacked Stories Honey Cuts dies to create the stack of books, flower and magnifying lens. I die cut the elements and used the Book Labels Stencils - Set of Two Layering Stencils to color the book stack. I die cut the page strips from an ivory cardstock and added some shading using Copic Sketch Markers E43 and E42 to make the pages look older. I glued the page strips to the books after the stenciling was completed.

I also die cut the bow/string, flower and magnifying lens and assembled the layers together. The bow was cut from kraft cardstock, flower from pink and green cardstock and the lens from a dark gray and metallic silver (for glass, not shown in photo) cardstock. For the magnifying lens, I cut three sets and stacked them to make it a bit more sturdy and substantial with the dark gray at the top of the stack.

I assembled the card, adding two sentiments from the Chapter and Charm Cardmaking Kit. I also doubled up the layers by cutting two, one stamped and one blank, to make them a bit more thicker. The layered elements create a playful scene that honors the stories, adventures, and special memories shared between friends while sending wishes for a birthday filled with joy, discovery, and happiness.

Check out this novel idea using the Chapter and Charm Cardmaking Kit. Make an A2 sized card using the book or attach it to a 5" X 7" card for a bigger sized card!
