Festive Frames Honey Cuts dies

For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this 5" X 7" vintage Christmas card, I layered three strips of pattern paper on the card base and added striped accent strips between the stripes. The top and bottom blue strips are 1-1/2" tall X 5" wide. The middle strip is 4" tall X 5" wide. The strip is 1/8" tall X 5" wide. All three papers are from the Merry Moments Paper Pad. This pad is still available and has the best coordinating patterns to make cards! 

Using the Lovely Layers: Bow Bough Honey Cuts dies. I die cut the mistletoe and the bow from green cardstock (boughs) and red solid and red glitter cardstock (bow). I cut the berries from a white glitter cardstock. I attached the bow to the card front using Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab. I glued the berries and mistletoe to the card, tucking them under the bow. I shaded the berries with a Copic E42 (light tan) color to shadow them a bit. It also makes them look a bit vintage. I also added a black dot to each one for a realistic look.

I die cut the ice skates from tan and white cardstock and the strings from a maroon cardstock. I colored the soles brown and blades gray on the skates using a Copic marker. I shaded the skates with a light brown ink to make the the skates look old-fashioned. Dots of tan were added to the fur at the top of each one for texture. I added the skates to the mistletoe using Foam Dots.

I stamped, die cut and attached two sentiments using the Simply Stated stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I added some faux nail heads to the bottom sentiment using bronze Pearl Pen. What I love so much about the Simply Stated stamps set is that all the sentiments are stamped with ONE STAMP and cut with ONE DIE! You get all these amazing sentiments with cute borders and shapes to add to your gifts, gift tags and cards! I use these all of the time! This is a real time saver and they look so professional, too! 

Vintage Gift Tag

The coordinating vintage gift tag uses the same sets including the Lovely Layers: Gallery Wall Holiday - Honey Cuts - Stand-Alone Dies and Merry Moments Paper Pad. I made the poinsettia, gold frame and leaves using elements from the gallery wall set. The plaque behind the frame is from the Festive Frames Honey Cuts dies. I cut two frames, one from white and one from tan to create a shadow behind it. I layered the cuts onto a tag and added snow by splattering it with white ink. I also added sentiments using the Simply Stated stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. A red/white baker's string finishes the tag with a tan reinforcement around the tag's hole.
