Santa is making a festive appearance on today's Christmas card! This jolly fellow features charming details that give him a cozy, homespun look. Surrounded by festive berries and framed with an embossed green ribbon, Santa takes center stage in this cheerful holiday design. A simple “Merry Christmas” sentiment completes the card, making it a sweet way to spread a little handmade holiday cheer!
I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
In Stitches: Santa Honey Cuts Dies
Framed In Holiday 3D Embossing Folder
Lovely Layouts: Framed in Holiday Honey Cuts dies
Laurel Wishes stamps and dies bundle OR Laurel Wishes stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Hive Hues Holiday Charm Cardstock Collection
Holiday Charm Paper Pack (Includes Organizer!)
For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Honeycomb Foam for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white acrylic pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

The new Holiday Charm release by Honey Bee Stamps is filled with holiday goodies including this large-sized Santa that comes with stitching holes for those who like crafting with a needle and thread. I did not not stitch my Santa today, but I did embellish him with fun frames! To make this card, I used the Framed In Holiday 3D Embossing Folder and the coordinating Lovely Layouts: Framed in Holiday Honey Cuts dies to make a very stylish and dimensional frame around his jolly face. I used a gingham paper from the Giddy for Gingham paper pack for the bottom layer. The next layer is the largest berry and leaf frame from the Lovely Layouts: Framed in Holiday Honey Cuts dies. I embossed pattern paper from the Holiday Charm Paper Pack (Includes Organizer!) using the Framed In Holiday 3D Embossing Folder. I did the same for the green layer. I used a piece of green cardstock from the Hive Hues Holiday Charm Cardstock Collection. I die cut the frame and then inserted it into the embossing folder to create the dimension. I added a few white dots in the corners for accents. Now it is time to make Santa Claus...

I die cut the Santa elements using paper from the Hive Hues Holiday Charm Cardstock Collection (red and green), Hive Hues Essentials Collection (white) and a soft pink for the face from the Bee Bliss Collection. I attached the elements using the Layering Guide. Adding stitches to Santa would be a fun "extra," too.
I attached the assembled Santa using foam tabs. I added details to the fur parts of Santa's hat using Copics in C3, C2 and C1. I also added accents to the holly sprig, eyes and nose using a white pen. I attached the 5" X 7" card front to a white card base. I stamped in a dark green ink and die cut the "Merry Christmas" sentiment using the Laurel Wishes stamps and dies bundle. I attached the phrase right below the green frame.
Inside the card, I stamped a two sentiments from two new sets - the Laurel Wishes stamp set ("Happy Holidays") and the Timeless Christmas Cheer stamp set ("Wishing you timeless Christmas Cheer"). There is nothing more timeless than good ole Santa. He never gets old. I used a dark green ink to stamp the phrases inside. Both of these sentiment stamp sets are so nice to finish your cards inside.
