I have a very fun post today to share with you today. It's a sneak peek of the next release headed your way this week on February 19! For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.
For this 5" X 7" card, I created an interior room scene to set stage for the "man cave" / gaming center. I used a pattern paper from the Foundry & Field Pattern Paper Pack to create the wallpaper for the man cave. I hand drew the 2-1/2" tall X 5" wide wood floor using a ruler and fine-tip marker. I drew in the graining and base coloring using Copic Markers in colors: E43, E53, E55, and E57. These are my "go-to" colors for an oak or hickory floor. I added a 1/8' strip of warm gray cardstock for the trim board between the wall and floor. With the floor and wallcoverings in place, it was time to "move in" the fun stuff!
Using the Lovely Layer: Man Cave Honey Cuts dies, I die cut the all the layers to assemble the pool table, cue sticks on the rack, pool balls with wood rack, wall mount television, dartboard, floor planter / plant, chair, mug of beer, and framed jersey. I used another coordinating pattern paper for the upholstered chair in the foreground. I thought the chair would look more "manly" with some wood legs so I die cut more pool table legs and cut them down to fit the chair base.
Being from Wisconsin, I had to make the framed jersey green and gold for the Green Bay Packers football team. I used the TV frame from the set and the jersey to create this wall decor. I cut the arms off the jersey and reattached them to the opposite sides so that it looked like the arms are folded in to fit the frame. This is how most framed jerseys look.
For the side table by the chair, I used the barstool dies and cut them down to be a proper table height. I attached the beer mug to the table. This man is ready for a day of basketball or football on the TV! March Madness is right around the corner!
I attached all the elements to the walls and floor. I used foam tabs behind the pool table, dart board, TV and chair for some dimension. I added some light shading under the chair and tool table. Lastly, I used the Game Time Stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies for the sentiments. I stamped, die cut and attached the words to the scene to complete this card.
