"Big Boat, Bigger Catches" Fishing Card by Bobbi Lemanski

"Big Boat, Bigger Catches" Fishing Card by Bobbi Lemanski - Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends. Today's card is all about the thrill of the catch, the joy of the open waters and one big boat for many more fishing adventures. This boat is big! They say the bigger the boat, the bigger the catches! This card would be perfect for next chapter cards, retirement or birthday. I'm using the following products from Honey Bee Stamps:

Lovely Layers: Boat Honey Cuts dies

Steady Waters 6" X 6" Stencil Layering Background

For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this 5" X 7" card, I cut all the pieces of the boat and assembled the boat. I used a navy, dark orange, white and black color combination.

I stenciled the background using Distress Oxide Ink by Ranger including browns, blues, lilac, mustard, orange, greens and tans. I also added more detail using Copic Markers. I used water splattering to lift color from the stenciled design. I also added white paint splatters to help create more movement in the water and imperfections in the sand like seashells and white stones. I also added little black spots in the sand for darker rocks.

I attached the background to the card base. Because the stencil design is 6" X 6", I cut it down to 5" wide X 6" long. I attached the stencil design to the A7 card base (5" X 7") leaving a 1" white space at the bottom. I attached the boat to the landscape and added water spots and waves around the boat. I used my white Gelly Roll Pen to create highlights on the water and my Copic markers to create shadows in the water.

I attached a 1/8" black strip of cardstock below the stenciled design. I stamped, die cut and attached a sentiment to the card using the Hooked On You stamps and coordinating Hooked On You Honey Cuts dies. This card is ready to celebrate a birthday, retirement, next chapter / change of job event, or new travel plan.
