Hello friends. Turkey day is around the bend and this bold gobbler is ready for its big day! Let's dress the turkey and the kitchen for Thanksgiving! Of course, I just had to make another Hoosier Cabinet for fall to go with this ole bird! It's no secret I love the Lovely Layers Hoosier Cabinet Fall-On Honey Cuts dies. I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products from the Hello Harvest release:
Lovely Layers: Turkey Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Boho Leaves Honey Cuts dies
Forever Grateful stamps and Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers Hoosier Cabinet Fall-On Honey Cuts dies. (along with these sets from a previous release: Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Honey Cuts dies and Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Baking Add-on Honey Cuts dies)
Homestead Hues 6" X 9" paper pad
Homestead Hues Pearl Sticker Pack
For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured projects below are made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.
Dressing the Turkey

To make this 5" X 7" turkey card, I started by making the turkey using the Lovely Layers: Turkey Honey Cuts dies. I die cut all of the elements to make the big bird and assembled the turkey. I used cardstock in a light and dark brown, white, red and a stone color. I used Copic markers and inks to highlight the detailing on the bird's parts. I used Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue to adhere the elements of the turkey.

I also die cut three large leaves using dies from the Lovely Layers: Boho Leaves Honey Cuts dies. I used my blender brushes (large and small) to add color to the leaves. I chose the following Distress Oxide Inks: Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, Fired Brick and Frayed Burlap. I splattered water over the blended inks and lifted the ink under the water spots with a dry paper towel. I also splattered white and black / brown watercolor paint over them to make them look less perfect.

For the background of the card, I cropped and attached the sunray pattern paper from the Homestead Hues 6" X 9" paper pad. I added the leaves about 2/3 down and attached the turkey over the leaves using foam tabs. Using the Forever Grateful stamps and Honey Cuts dies, An optional sentiment (seen on the combo photo, is Blessings of Fall stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I stamped and die cut a sentiment from the set and attached it over the leaves. Lastly, I splattered on some bronze/brown watercolor paint over the bottom and added a few brown gem sticker pearls from the Homestead Hues Pearl Sticker pack.
More from the Kitchen on Thanksgiving day...

Let's dress the kitchen for Thanksgiving! I was inspired by the colors of the turkey, especially the red wattle and colorful snood and brown feathers. To create this 5" X 7" kitchen scene card, I used a brown floral wallpaper from the Homestead Hues 6" X 9" paper pad. I made the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Honey Cuts dies from a coral cardstock, with Fired Brick Distress Oxide Ink blended over the cabinet drawers for dimension using my blender brushes (large and small).

I die cut basket, apples, mushrooms, basket cloth, jars of dry goods, and apple pie using the Lovely Layers Hoosier Cabinet Fall-On Honey Cuts dies. The pitcher and cannisters are from the original set. The scale is from the Hoosier Cabinet Baking Add-on Honey Cuts dies). The sentiment is from the Forever Grateful stamps and Honey Cuts dies. I assembled all the elements and added them to the cabinet. Wood knobs were added to the drawers and doors.
Is this woodgrain cabinet more your style?

Prefer a stained wood Hoosier cabinet? You can make this, too! Just create woodgrain on the cardstock using Copic Markers or similar colors.

These are all wonderful projects Bobbie! Thank you for all the inspiration! I absolutely love the Hoosier and all the add on, I just wish they had done a roasted turkey with the fall add on, that would have made it perfect. I love all 3 of your samples and they are each lovely in their own way in the different colors. I had to get all the sets and I can’t wait to create a Thanksgiving hoosier.
