Hello crafty friends. I am sharing a card featuring the "sawdust" side of the "Sawdust and Saddles" release by Honey Bee Stamps. I'm getting out all the tools, supplies and a workbench for the handy man or woman you know! Saddle up for a fun woodworking session here...
I'm using the following products by Honey Bee Stamps:
Lovely Layers: Pegboard and Desk Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Pegboard Garage Tools Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Woodworking Honey Cuts dies
Nailed It stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
For the basics... my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.
To make this 5" X 7" card, I used a pattern paper for the "wall and floor" backdrop from the Americana paper pad. (There are soooo many good papers in this pad for masculine cards or very textural cards.) I die cut the elements to create the desk and peg board from white cardstock using the Lovely Layers: Pegboard and Desk Honey Cuts dies. I colored the desk in a deep red using Copic Markers in R89 and R46. I used my white gel pen to add a little bit of rough wood to the wood cabinet and colored the pulls in black. Later, I added black Pearl Pen drops to the pulls to make them dimensional and glossy.
For the pegboard, I added a rough, red-painted, wood frame using more paper from the Americana paper pad. I cut the frame strips about 1/4" wide and attached around the pegboard, cutting the corners at a 45 degree angle for a frame. I colored the pegboard holes in a deeper brown for shadowing.
For the desktop, I colored the counter using shades of brown (Copic E55, E57, E43 and W3 are my "go-to" colors for woodgrain) to make it look like a wood butcherblock countertop.
In front of the desk, I added elements from the Lovely Layers: Woodworking Honey Cuts dies including the bench, wood, circular saw and the planer (on the desktop.) I colored them with the same Copics that I used for the desktop. I used black Pearl Pen to add the screws in the bench joints. The planer was cut from a deep burgundy and black cardstock and the rest from white cardstock.
I filled the pegboard with brushes, T-square, screwdrivers, saws and more using the die cuts created with the Lovely Layers: Pegboard Garage Tools Honey Cuts dies. I added some black hooks using black Pearl Pen, too.
My last step was adding a sentiment to the front. I stamped, die cut and attached two phrases from the Nailed It stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I attached them to the lower left corner to complete this 5" X 7" card.
