Stitched Blooms & Butterflies Cards by Bobbi Lemanski

Simple stitches. Beautiful wishes... both cards today are simple and sweet and perfect for summertime activities. They feature the Petals and Wings Honey Cuts dies that are "sew" cute! These two cards are simple to make, require no coloring, quick and easy assembly, and offer sweet looks with the charming stitches and spring colors. You could make these cards with yours friends that are new to cardmaking, grandchildren, day camp groups, babysitter hours, summer arts and crafts classes, etc.

I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white acrylic pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

Tied With a Bow Floral Wreath Card

For this 5" X 7" card, I die cut all the floral layers using the Petals and Wings Honey Cuts dies and assembled the flowers. I chose two colors for each flower, a lighter and darker shade of aqua, lavender, yellow and pink. I also die cut and assembled the butterfly elements using aqua and yellow cardstock. I used my white acrylic pen to connect the die cut holes to create faux stitching on all the petals and on the butterfly. I added foam tabs on the back of about half of the flowers. I also added foam to the back of the butterfly.

I made the pink bow using the Accessorize It: Charmed Honey Cuts dies. I also used the same set to die cut thirteen medium green single leaves to tuck in around the florals.

I stamped and die cut a sentiment using the Heart of Our Family stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies.

To assemble the card, I used a circular die to mark out my circle for the wreath. I attached the butterfly and sentiment in the middle of the wreath. I also attached the pink bow to the top and then added the florals around the wreath shape. I intermixed the foam tab and non-foam tab flowers to balance it out. This offers awesome dimension to the wreath. I tucked in and attached leaves around the flowers to fill in.

I attached the sentiment below the butterfly, attaching over any flowers as needed. This card is complete. On to the next one...

Garden Lattice Floral Card

For my second card, I die cut the Garden Lattice Cover Plate (retiring items) from aqua cardstock and attached it to an A7 white card base made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock.  I assembled twelve more flowers and a sweet butterfly using the Petals and Wings Honey Cuts dies. I made sure to attach the colored flowers to the lattice background in a pattern. I used the pattern, yellow-pink-lavender-aqua across the rows to lay out the twelve flowers. I mixed the the three flower petal designs, putting smaller ones in between the larger ones. I added a foam tab to the back of each flower.  I layered the butterfly between the petals and attached it using a foam tab

I added a white highlight mark to the centers of each flower using a white acrylic pen. Lastly, I stamped, die cut and attached a verse right below the lattice, from the set, Heart of Our Family stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies.
