There's something special about a fresh new release—it brings excitement, endless creative possibilities, and the perfect excuse to spend time making something handmade. Today's project is inspired by one of everyone's favorite comfort foods: a perfectly grilled, well-done hamburger loaded with delicious details including American cheese! Join me as I share how I combined this fun new release with layers of color, texture, and a hearty helping of creativity to create a card that's as tasty as a well-cooked burger hot off the grill. I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products for this 5" X 7" card:

For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white acrylic pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this card, I die cut all the elements of the hamburger using the Lovely Layers: Hamburger Honey Cuts dies. I wanted to make this burger extra special so I added extra goodness by using a few condiments from the Lovely Layers: Sub Sandwich Honey Cuts dies including lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and red onions. These die sets work so well together. I used Distress Oxide Inks to color the condiments, burger and the bun halves. For more detailed colors on the red onion, tomatoes and the pickles, I used Copic Markers. This bun has sesame seeds on top. I cut them from a off white cardstock and glued them on. I used a Copic E55 to shadow under each sesame to make them look more dimensional on the bun.
I assembled the hamburger and set it aside to work on the other elements of the card.

What goes well with a burger? How about a couple of beers! I used the Lovely Layers: Tool Box Add-On Honey Cuts dies to make the two home-brewed beers. The sizing of the beers is perfect with this loaded hamburger.
For the background, I used pattern papers from the Perfect Picnic Paper Pad to make the 5" X 7" background. A red and white checkered tablecloth screams picnics and hamburgers on the grill so I paired the checkered cloth with a fun blue-sky, fenced background that represents a perfect summer day to celebrate with burgers and beers!

I stamped, die cut and added two sentiments from the Stacked With Joy stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I placed one above the burger and one below, centered on the card front. There's lots of great sentiments in this set that could work with this picnic / burger scene. I attached the card front to a white card base and added a birthday message inside the card.

The Perfect Picnic release goes live on July 6 after the 7:00 PM release party on You Tube. Watch for the Instagram Hop on 7/7 for more ideas using these fabulous new sets!
