In Stitches - Christmas Tag Week at Honey Bee!

In Stitches - Christmas Tag Week at Honey Bee!

Hello fellow crafters! It's Christmas Tag Week at Honey Bee Stamps! Today, I'm sharing four tags that I made using the new "In Stitches" die sets from the Merry Moments release. These sets are designed to be stitched with embroidery floss. While some people love to add that extra texture, I'm a "let's make these tags quick" girl so I'm using the sets with out the additional stitching applications. They are beautiful when stitched, however!

So here we are in early December... my cards are done and It's time to make my haul of holiday gift tags for Christmas Eve and Day! These tags are so easy to make, too! No need to be fussy, just have fun with them! Use up your extra die cuts from your cards. They will be beautiful no matter what you layer on. I'm using the following Honey Bee Products:

In Stitches: Snowflakes Honey Cuts die set

In Stitches: Holly Honey Cuts die set

In Stitches: Ornament Honey Cuts die set

In Stitches: Christmas Tree Honey Cuts die set

In Stitches: Bookmarked Snowflake Honey Cuts die set

In Stitches: Candy Cane Honey Cuts die set

Merry Moments Pearl Gem Stickers

For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured projects below are made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the tag base. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. Unless noted, the base tags are cut from white cardstock using a simple tag with clipped corner design. If you don't have a die like this, you can simple cut a triangle, clip the top corners and punch a hole at the top.

Ornament Tag

To make this tag, I die cut the ornament pieces from red, pink and gold cardstock using the In Stitches: Ornament Honey Cuts die set. I attached the pieces to the white tag, using Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab under the assembled ornament to make it stand out. A simple gold pearl gem sticker in the center of the ornament design finishes the ornament.

The In Stitches: Snowflakes Honey Cuts die set design in the background is 1/2 a snowflake so I added two die cuts behind the ornament for a patterned background in an aqua blue.  I used the In Stitches: Holly Honey Cuts die set  to add greenery behind the ornament loop at the top. I also stamped, die cut and added a wood look texture to the sentiment cut out from the Simply Stated stamp set and coordinating Simply Stated Honey Cuts die set. A red/white baker's twine string was added to the tag to complete it.

Snowflake Tag

The snowflake tag uses the In Stitches: Snowflakes Honey Cuts die set for the focal point. It is made up of a white, pink and an aqua blue snowflake layered together. A simple pink pearl gem sticker in the center of the snowflake completes the flake. For the background, I cut two snowflakes using the In Stitches: Bookmarked Snowflake Honey Cuts die set  and placed them behind the focal point.

Candy Cane Tag

For this sweet tag, I used the Antique Layering Frames Honey Cuts die set to create the tag base from white cardstock. I added holly and red berries using the In Stitches: Holly Honey Cuts die set  and the candy canes using the In Stitches: Candy Cane Honey Cuts die set. For the candy canes, I hand cut white stripes and colored in red stripes to make them red and white. If you do the stitching instead, you will have striped canes using your thread. The smaller greenery and berries is a piece from the Lovely Layers: Gallery Wall Honey Cuts dies. I added a small sentiment that was made using the Simply Stated stamp set and coordinating Simply Stated Honey Cuts die set.

Christmas Tree Tag

To make this tag, I used the In Stitches: Snowflakes Honey Cuts die set and the In Stitches: Bookmarked Snowflake Honey Cuts die set for the background. I had some extra die cuts to add to this final tag so why not add them!  I used the In Stitches: Christmas Tree Honey Cuts die set for the focal point.  I splattered white paint over the snowflake design and the tree to look like fresh snow. The sentiment came from Simply Stated stamp set and coordinating Simply Stated Honey Cuts die set I used a foam tab to attach the sentiment to make it stand out. Finally, Merry Moments Pearl Gem Stickers finished off the tree as beautiful bulb ornaments in red, teal and aqua.
