Giddy up... Honey Bee has a new horse in town! She comes with a really pretty saddle, too! The Sawdust and Saddles release by Honey Bee Stamps is filled with fun stamps, dies and stencils to create fun horse and western-themed scenes. Today I'm sharing the following sets on two 5" X 7" cards I made. I'm using the following products:
Lovely Layers: Tack Honey Cuts Dies
Lovely Layers: Horse Honey Cuts Dies
Saddle Up Stamps and coordinating dies
Range Scene Set of 6 Stencil Set
For the basics... my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.
Saddle Up Card

This is a fun card to make for a "get well" card. I used the Lovely Layers: Tack Honey Cuts Dies to make the saddle. How cute is the rope and all the accessories?! I just love it. I used cardstock in browns, black, terracotta and teal for a coordinated look with my pattern paper. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for this one. I blended on Distress Oxide Ink in Walnut Stain onto the "stamped" saddle to make it look more aged. I used Copic Markers in brown tones to blend onto the rope, too. Colors like E59, E57, E55 and E43 are my go-to colors!

To make the background of the card, I splattered black watercolor paint over the front of a white 5" X 7" card base. I added pattern paper from the FREE BEE paper pack to the bottom of the card along with a black, 1/8" strip of cardstock for clean, finished seam. I added a fun sentiment using the Saddle Up Stamps and coordinating dies sets to complete this card.
Giddy Up, Horsey Card

To make this horse-scene card, I used the Lovely Layers: Horse Honey Cuts Dies set for the horse. I used Copic Markers in E50's to define the horse muscles and parts. For the background, I used the Range Scene Set of 6 Stencil Set to make the landscape. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Lost Shadow, Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness and Walnut Stain to stencil the mountainous view. I added the horse to the scene and shadowed below the horse to make him realistically fit in the scene.

To finish this 5" X 7" card, I added a sentiment from the Saddle Up Stamps and coordinating dies. I also added this rope from the Lovely Layers: Tack Honey Cuts Dies that I am obsessed with lately! :) This is such a fun card and looks way harder than it is to make!
