Hello friends. It's hard to believe that it is almost time to replace our porch planters for pumpkins and fall mums. The cooler temperatures have me planning my new fall displays. I love mum plants in purples and reds and that inspired my card today. I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lovely Layers: Mums Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Dianthus Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Fall Foliage Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Maple Leaf Honey Cuts dies
Great Greetings: Spring Honey Cuts dies
For the basics... my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and a natural white for the card front panel. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To begin, I cut a 5" X 7" card front panel from a natural white cardstock. I splattered white ink and a gold watercolor paint over the front using a watercolor fan-shaped brush. I also die cut the layers of the mum florals from a light pink (blossoms) and olive cardstock (leaves), using the Lovely Layers: Mums Honey Cuts dies. I used Distress Oxide Ink in Aged Mahogany, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, and Picked Raspberry. I lightened the color as I layered the mums from bottom to top. I sprayed a little Fossilized Amber Distress Spray over the mums' leaves for some golden sparkle.
I also die cut the elements to create the white flowers using the Lovely Layers: Dianthus Honey Cuts dies. I cut the three flowers apart to use separately. I die cut and assembled the lotus pod from the Lovely Layers: Fall Foliage Honey Cuts dies.
Using pattern papers from the "Fall Is In the Air" paper pad, I layered two patterns and added faux stitching to the edges using my white Gelly Roll pen and a brown fine-tip marker. This will be the patterned band for the front of the card.

Using the Lovely Layers: Maple Leaf Honey Cuts dies, I made three different maple leaves, using different colors for each one. I also splattered watercolor paint and white paint over the tops to make them more imperfect, just like nature.
I die cut the layers to create the word sentiment, "Bloom" from the Great Greetings: Spring Honey Cuts dies. I blended on Distress Oxide Ink in fall tones on the top layer to create the gold-to-rust blend.

I attached the patterned band on a diagonal, attached the large mum in the center using a round foam tab, and added a maple leaf on both sides.

I filled in around the mum with the third maple leaf, and the three white dianthus flowers.

I added the mum bud, lotus, pod, the "bloom" sentiment, and the mum's leaves. Finally, I splattered a little more white paint over the flowers to complete the look.
