Hello crafty friends. I have a fun valentine to share today. From a heart-shaped topiary tree to a cute puppy in a pail, this valentine has all the sweet love on one card. I used a little imagination and the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lovely Layers: Topiary Honey Cuts dies
Bitty Buzzwords stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Dog Gone Amazing Stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Hoosier Cabinet Holiday Add-On Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Heart Vines Honey Cuts dies
Bold Background Vines of Love Honey Cuts dies
For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To create this 5" X 7" card, I started with the idea of making a heart-shaped topiary tree. I die cut the stem from brown cardstock, the leafy sections from a medium green, the bow from pink and the pot from a red cardstock. I blended Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness around the edges of the leaves and used a Copic YG67 for the indented sections to make the tree look variegated in color. I used a couple of base die cuts and overlapped them in a V shape to create the heart shape, then layered smaller leafy areas over it. I added one foam tab in between the base and smaller layers to make the topiary tree dimensional. I added the pink bow to the topiary. I hand drew red hearts onto the bow using red Copic R29.
For the smaller potted vine, I die cut the vase and bow using dies from the topiary die set and the vine from the Lovely Layers: Heart Vines Honey Cuts dies. I blended darker ink on the heart vines and the pot. I also added red hearts using the dies from the Bold Background Vines of Love Honey Cuts dies. I have lots of heart vines left over to use which I will use on another upcoming project. Stay tuned!

I die cut two heart strings using the die from Hoosier Cabinet Holiday Add-On Honey Cuts dies and pink cardstock. I added a couple of strands on the tree and then one long one down to the puppy. I glued red clay hearts to the pink strings using Bee Creative Precision Glue. I used my white Gelly Roll pen to add a highlight mark on the right side of all the clay hearts.
I stamped on white cardstock, die cut and colored the pail and puppy using the Dog Gone Amazing Stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I used the standing puppy facing left for this card. I colored the puppy using Copic Sketch Markers YR27, E41, W1, and R89, R46, R27, R14, C3 and C1 to color the pail. I added some hearts to the outside of the pail using my white Gelly Roll pen.

For the background, I cut a 5" X 7" piece of white cardstock and added random hand drawn hearts to the cardstock some 2/3 of the way down, leaving the bottom blank. The marker will bleed so it is important to have a separate piece for the card front. These hearts are easy to draw. I start at the top of each side of the heart and drag the marker down in a slanted direction connecting them at the bottom of the heart, creating a V=shaped design. I always give a little more pressure at the top to make it fill out a bit more for the right heart shape. I used a W2 Copic Marker for a warm gray color. I love the simplicity and sweetness of this background. I will be using this idea again!

I assembled the entire card front panel, attaching the topiary tree, pail and dog, and smaller vine using foam tabs. I shaded under each element to "ground" them. I added two more little hearts right under the topiary and shaded below them, too. I stamped, die cut and attached the sentiments using the Bitty Buzzwords stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. For the "Be Mine" I used a shadow brown layer, a red base layer and two pink script layers and glued them together as shown. For the other sentiment, I hand cut around the words and glued it to the card. Note: You could simply stamp directly on the card, too. Lastly, I attached the entire card front panel to an A7 (5" X 7") card base made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock. This card is complete and ready for February 14, Valentine's Day!
