A Cottage in the Country

Hello crafty friends! Today, I'm taking you to the countryside to visit this sweet cottage in the woods. I'm using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

For the basics... my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this 5" X 7" card, I started by making this cute cottage from warm gray, a faded red and white cardstock. I die cut all of the pieces and adhered the elements together with Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue. I used shades of brown Copic Markers to create a woodgrain effect on the door, window frames, and the roof's facia boards.

I cut out all the bushes and window box greenery using the bush and wisteria bud dies. I added shadowing to the greens using the YG67 and YG63 Copic Markers. I added flowers to the greenery using gold rhinestone gem stickers and Pearl Pen in a faded red color.

To make the background, I used two pattern papers from the Cottage Countryside Paper Pad. For the top half, I used a tree/floral pattern. For the bottom half of the card, I used a linen-look paper that I hand cut at the top edge to make rolling hills for the background of the cottage. 

I attached the cottage to the background scene using foam tabs. I used a YG67 Copic marker to add dots of a darker green, over the "lawn" around the cottage to blend the cottage into the scene. Lastly, I stamped two sentiments in black ink over the lawn, in the bottom right using the No Place Like Home stamps.
