Sending You a Slice of Summer

Sending You a Slice of Summer - Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, Honey Bee friends!! Brenda here with a fun summer card that's packed with all the sweet treats and sunshine of summer!! I've combined a Fruit Medley Layering Stencil background with die-cuts from the Lovely Layers: Backyard Bites and a sentiment from the Berry Sweet Summer Stamp Set!!

I began by stenciling the Fruit Medley Layering Stencils onto a panel of white cardstock with a colorful variety of dye inks using blending brushes. I used the rectangle die in the Fancy Fall Layering Frames Die Set to cut it down to A2 size. A scalloped panel of vellum was die-cut with the second largest die in the Scallop A2 Frames Die Set and adhered to the center of the background.

The Lovely Layers: Backyard Bites Die Set is so much fun!! I die-cut all the elements from white cardstock and added color and shading to the die-cuts with the same dye inks that I used on the background and blending brushes. The larger decorative oval is from the Fancy Fall Layering Frames Die Set. It was die-cut from white cardstock and an oval from the Sweet Stacks: Oval Die Set was cut from striped patterned paper in the Summer Picnic Paper Pad. The ovals were adhered together with Bee Creative Glue and the die-cut elements were arranged and adhered, also using Bee Creative Glue. I added foam squares to the back of the decorative oval and popped it up on the background.

The sentiment, from the Berry Sweet Summer Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with black pigment ink. It was cut out with the Coordinating Die, along with three more layers from heavyweight white cardstock. They were stacked and adhered together, then added to the front of the card with Bee Creative Glue. I used a black fine tip marker to add the seeds to the watermelon and a white gel pen to add some highlights to the die-cuts and this card was finished.

That's it!! The perfect card to send a little sunshine and let someone know you're thinking of them and sending a "slice of summer"!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a terrific Tuesday!!

Brenda
