Merry Christmas - Lovely Layers: Vintage Snowman

Merry Christmas - Lovely Layers: Vintage Snowman

Hello, crafters and happy Tuesday!! Brenda here sharing a Christmas card featuring the Lovely Layers: Vintage Snowman Honey Cuts from the latest Merry Moments Release!! I absolutely LOVE snowmen so it's no surprise that I was instantly drawn to the adorable Lovely Layers: Snowman Die Set!! I love the vintage, classic look!!

I began by die-cutting all the elements for my snowman from red, green, orange, black, gray and white cardstock and plaid cardstock from the Merry Moments Paper Pad using the Lovely Layers: Vintage Snowman Die Set. I added shading with a combination of dye inks using blending brushes and Copic markers. All the pieces were adhered together using Bee Creative Glue, except the hand on the left and the layer of scarf on the right. They were popped up with foam squares.

For the background, I used a panel of pattern paper from the FreeBEE paper pad (which is free with a qualifying purchase). It was die-cut with the second largest die in the Sweet Stacks: Rectangles Die Set. I blended some darker blue dye inks around the outside of the panel with a blending brush. I wanted to add a bit of texture, so I die-cut the Pierced Fancy Flakes A2 Cover Plate Die (which unfortunately has been retired, but the Fancy Flakes Cover Plate Die is still available in the clearance section) to achieve that. The panel was splattered with diluted white bleed-proof ink and set aside to dry. I die-cut a panel of white cardstock with the same rectangle die, then used a die from the Makin' Waves Long Border Die Set to die-cut the snow bank. I used light blue dye ink to add a bit of color and shading, then adhered the background panel and the snow bank to an A2 white, top-folding card base. The snowman was adhered with Bee Creative Glue.

The sentiment is from the Simply Stated: Holiday Stamp Set. I LOVE that all of these sentiments stamp at one time and they all die-cut with one die. They were stamped with Bee Creative Embossing Ink and embossed with white detail embossing powder, then cut out with the Simply Stated Die. The "Merry Christmas" sentiment was popped up with foam squares and the excess was trimmed from the right edge. To finish off the card, I added highlights to the snowman with a white gel pen and Star Dust Stickles to the berries, nose, candy cane and snow bank for a bit of sparkle.

That does it for me today!! Thank you so much for stopping by!!

There's a fun and inspiring Instagram hop happening tomorrow, so stay turned for that!!

Have a wonderful week!!
