Happy Tuesday, friends!! I hope your week is off to a great start!! Brenda here with a shaped card featuring the Lovely Layer: Fishing Vest A2 Card Base!! How perfect is this for all the anglers in your life?!?
I started by die-cutting the pieces for the card base from tan and brown cardstock using the Lovely Layer: Fishing Vest A2 Card Base Dies. I folded the side pieces along the score lines and reinforced the folds with a bone folder, then adhered the flaps to the back side of the main die-cut with score tape. The pockets and trim were cut from lighter tan cardstock and the zippers from the same dark brown cardstock as the back piece of the card base. The zipper pulls were die-cut from mirror brushed gold cardstock. The pockets, trim and zippers were adhered with Bee Creative Glue. I added faux stitching to the debossed stitches around the vest and pockets and traced along the zippers with a brown fine-line marker.
The hooks, lure and compass were cut from white, frosted silver and red cardstock using the Display Box Tackle Add-on Die Set. I colored the lure with Copic markers, then adhered all the accessories with Bee Creative Glue.
I left the front of the card sentiment free. The sentiment, from the Well Played Sir Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with red dye ink. It was cut out with the Coordinating Die and adhered to the inside of the card with Bee Creative Glue.
I am a HUGE fan of shaped cards and this one is no exception!! We have several fishermen in my family, so this will get plenty of use!!
I can think of several other occupations and occasions to use this for, as well!!
