Hi crafty friends. Bobbi Lemanski here. I am headed to a brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. I made this card for my friend because she would probably prefer a margarita over a cup of coffee on her birthday, but isn't brunch just too early for that?! We'll have to see!
To make this friend card, I used the following Honey Bee Stamps products from its latest release called, "Hello Harvest."
Lovely Layers: French Press Honey Cuts dies
More Coffee Please stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
You Had Me at Coffee stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Gallery Wall Art Honey Cuts dies
Boho Leaves Honey Cuts dies
Lace & Loom 6" X 6" Background Stencil
Homestead Hues Gemstone Stickers
For the basics... my Honey Bee Stamps featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5" X 7" in size.

To make this 5" X 7" card, I started with the idea of making a kitchen scene, one with a pretty wallpaper and a warm gray wainscoting with classic white moldings on the bottom of the wall. I used the Lace & Loom 6" X 6" Background Stencil, Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Ink and my blender brushes (large and small) to make the wallpaper pattern on white cardstock. For the wainscoting, I added white trim moldings to the warm gray base. I used a simple frame shape from the Lovely Layers: Gallery Wall Art Honey Cuts dies to create the rectangular moldings. It was so easy and look how great that looks!
I added a 1/2" strip of white cardstock positioned right above the gray. This strip will also serve as the ledge or table where I position/rest the French press and coffee cups.
Using a printed pattern paper from the "FREE BEE" paper pack (free with an order of $100 or more), and the Boho Leaves Honey Cuts dies, I die cut two doilies and trimmed them to a half circle. I attached the clean edge to the top of the ledge, to look like a tablecloth or table runner hanging over the edge.

Next, I die cut and assembled the French press coffee pot and the two lavender teacups. I used a vellum for the French press to make it see-through like a glass carafe and the outer frame from a silver metallic cardstock. I added some silver Pearl Pen dots to the base of the coffee pot for extra detailing. Brown cardstock was used for the coffee and gold metallic cardstock for the screw in the handle and the top of the press. I used lavender cardstock for the cups and the same warm gray cardstock from the wall, for the steam coming out of the cups.
I used the small flowers and leaves from the Lovely Layers: Gallery Wall Art Honey Cuts dies to accent the pot and cups. I colored the leaves in green using Copic markers, YG63, YG61 and YG03 and the flowers in BV00 and V01. I added some Homestead Hues Gemstone Stickers to the centers of the flowers.
To finish the card, I added two sentiments, one from More Coffee Please stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies and one from You Had Me at Coffee stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. The margarita sentiment just cracks me up! I also added some white highlights to the coffee pot and cups using my white Gelly Roll pen.
